My take on this:
My hubs gifted me this on our 4th wedding anniversary and so in love with this shade. Like its already so obvious, i love dark shades and particularly different shades of red. Now on to the review.
About the shade, this is a classic blue based red shade with pink undertones. This shades suits the dusky indian skins so well that almost everyone can carry it off if they dare to falunt this shade. Since its a pretty bright shade its most suited for night wear. Saying this doesn't mean that it cant be worn during the day. This shade is for anyone who cares to be daring. I'm in love with shade and love pairing them up with neutral eyes.
The packaging is pretty sturdy and comes with a see through cap and a shade previewer at the bottom- very convenient when looking for this shade. It gives a mildly annoying chocolate-y smell. This puts me off but since it lasts only for like ten seconds after applying, i'm okay with it. Unlike other mattes, this does not give a powdery matte finish. It has a creamy texture and glides when applying. The finish looks creamy too but doesn't have a glossy finish (duh!!! its matte)
The most awesome thing about this lipstick is the pigmentation, it provides maximum coverage. It is great for people with pigmented and scarred lips, as it covers them completely. The lipsticks last about 3 hours perfectly and then starts to fade gradually even if i don't eat or drink anything. Overall it lasts about 5 hours and then leaves a stain depending on the shade of lipstick. This lipstick leaves a cherry red stain and looks decent. I like this as i don't want my lips to look bare and the stark contrast between wearing this shade of lipstick and bare lips are too great and I'm not loving it.
Like the company claims its does everything it says: Its gives a nice supple matte look. but it might be drying on some and prior moisturizing of the lips can takes care of this. There are mixed reviews saying that it enhances fine lines and some say nothing about it. I have observed that it does mildly settle in to the fine lines but not to the point that it looks prune-y.
Decent range of shades.
Mildly enhances fine lines on the lips.
Starts to fade after 3 hours.
Has mild annoying fragrance but dissipates quickly.
It is such an affordable alternative for those considering to venture in to the realm of Red lipsticks. Considering the price the quality is pretty good.
