Review: e.l.f. Studio Blush - Blushing Rose

What it claims:

The soft sheer texture blends into the skin for a silky finish. Designed to be worn alone or layered for more depth. Highlight your complexion with a subtle healthy glow!

Quantity & Price: $3 for 4.75g

Ingredients:

Talc, Mica, Nylon-12, Magnesium Stearate, Silica, Paraffinum Liquidum (Mineral Oil), Polybutene, Sodium Dehydroacetate May Contain: Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), Manganese Violet (CI 77742), Mica (CI 77019), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Yellow No.5 Lake (CI 19140), Red No.40 Lake (CI 16035), Ultramarine Violet (CI 77007), Blue No.1 Lake (CI 42090)
My take on this:
I have been having this product from Feb and meaning to a review on them since them. I have experimented and experienced other makeup products but still a newbie when it comes to Blushes. I had no idea what shade would work my complexion so searched for swatches and gathered clues about them and in the end selected this shade. To start off, the packaging is really cute. Its compact and is sturdy enough to be carried around. For the amount of the product you are getting the price is really really affordable. If only we could get this brand in India 🙁
This shade appears pigmented on my fingers but when i apply on my face i have build up more layers to make it visible. This best works when i use my stipple brush and not the Blush brush, Wonder why??!!! It feels light and comfortable to wear this and is suitable to wear during the day. It goes on smoothely and is very easy to blend them.It appears as if it does have golden shimmer particles in it and it does...but it doesn't end up looking too shimmer-ish on the face...Like i said great to wear during the day. This shade gives a nice glow to my face and makes it appear natural

When i apply on my face it lasts about 4 hours and after than it kinda fades away really fast. There are mixed reviews on this products; some say its not pigmented. I guess it depends on the shade you choose. If you are newbie when it comes to using Blush, this is a great choice as it wont make a dent in your pocket.
Check out Here for the different shades available.
Pros:
Affordable
Cute and sturdy packaging
Easy to blend
Decent pigmentation.
Looks natural (Talking only about this shade...no clue about the others)
Subtle enough to use both during day and night (This shade)
Cons:
Need to layer it to make it visible
Stays put only for 4 hours
Availability....of course!!!

Verdict:

Easy on the pocket. A great buy for newbies and for people looking to save money.....only if it was available easily...sigh!!!!

e.l.f Plumping Lip Glaze - Ruby Kiss and Oasis

What it claims:
Forget costly Collagen injections, or those painfully stinging glosses, stimulate your senses to a refreshed full perfect pout with Plumping Lip Glaze! A revolutionary lip plumper, infusing natural ingredients that awaken your senses for fresh, volume-enhanced and moisturized lips. This dual sided Plumping Lip Glaze has a tinted color for a subtle plump or a clear gloss that power plumps your lips. Wear together and instantly feel the lip enlarging effects!
Price & Quantity: $1 for 1.8g
Ingredients:
Paraffinum Liquidum, Polybutene, Silica, Fragrance, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Titanium Dioxide Yellow No. 10, Aluminum Lake (CI 47005), Yellow No.5, Aluminum Lake (CI 19140 ), Orange No.5 (CI 45370), Red No.27 Aluminum Lake(CI 45410:2), Iron Oxide(CI 77499).

My take on this:
The lip glaze/gloss comes in a dual ended packaging which is quite sturdy. One end of the lip gloss contains the coloured lip gloss and the other end contains pearlascent  lip gloss. The product claims that the tinted colour gives subtle plump and the pearlascent one gives greater plump. The Swatches on the website are not true to shades. So use your judgment or check out swatches before buying them. The lip gloss is smooth to apply and the wand helps to apply evenly on the lips. The shades here are Ruby Kiss and Oasis. Ruby Kiss contains subtle gold shimmers that doesn't feel gritty on the lips or look garish. It does feel sticky a bit but not overtly much. It feels like and comfortable to wear. The tinted lip gloss feels subtly minty on the lips and the other end feels super minty and i love how refreshing it is. Some might not love the menthol fragrance but i love them.
The shade 'Ruby Kiss' appears more pigmented in the tube but when applied its only semi-opaque. This shade is Reddish (Check out swatches as i suck at color description) and i love this shade. Please check out the swatches to know how the other shade looks like as i so often repeat it - i suck at it!!! 🙂
I haven't swatched the other one on my lips as i was sure that it wouldn't suit me. If you are interested to  buy it from me them let me know and i will let you know the price. And of course its brand new!!!
The lip gloss doesn't last more than an hour even if not eating or drinking anything.
I didn't notice too much plumping action happening so don't purchase them if this is your intended purpose. I believe that the minty tingling sensation doesn't plump anything and the little plumping effect that i think is happening is due to the pearlascent effect of the other end of the lip gloss. Despite not lasting long and being tad sticky, it's definitely still worth its money as its only $1 where you get a thicker gloss-like color and a clear topcoat. Since it costs so less its a good gift for beginners and teenagers.
Swatches:

With Flash!!

Pros:
Sturdy packaging.
Minty freshness on lips.
Easy on the pocket
Cons:
Availability
Doesn't last long.
Bit sticky

Verdict:
The color is very pretty and it is your average gloss. Nothing more than that. There is no significant plumping , so don't get this if you want some lip plumping action. You can try them out once as they are affordable.

e.l.f. Essential Eyelid Primer - Sheer

What it claims:
Preps your eyelid for smoother, longer-lasting and crease-proof eyeshadow. The ultra sheer nude color works to increase eye color longevity. The lightweight liquid formula quickly absorbs into the skin for comfortable wear.

Price & Quantity: $1 for 4.81g
Ingredients:
Cyclopentasiloxane, Octyl Palmitate, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Dimethicone, Kaolin, Triacontanyl PVP, Propylene Carbonate, Titanium Dioxide, Barium Sulfate , Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), Mica (CI 77019).
Shades Available:
Sheer, Champagne, Gold and Pearl.

My take on this product:

This is my first eye primer and totally satisfied at this point of time. Those who are following my blog would come across this sentence 'This is my first....' a lot of time thats because I'm still a newbie to makeup and learning how to become a pro...very slowly and whenever possible. I would say I'm happy at this point because, for my experience as a novice, this product is effective and also i have heard from other intermediate makeup pros that this product is quite effective. And of course, beauties who are really good at their makeup would recommend other products. Now thats an entirely different topic to discuss about. So lets leave it at this and go on with the product.

The packaging is really good - sturdy,leak-proof and cute looking considering that it costs only $1.The primer has a doe foot applicator and this makes it really helpful to place them on the eyes and keeps the experience mess-free. There is a faint chemical smell that dissipates after a while.
The consistency of the primer helps it to blend really well and gives a smooth finish on drying. The drying time is less than a minute so issues with that either. The primer makes the eyeshadow last really long. In case of oily lids its performs decently but if in case of excessively oily lids, the product just breaks down and leaves a greasy mess.
Now about the staying power, i believe that it varies depending on the eyeshadow you are wearing. On a average, i find them to effective for 5 hours.
I used them in Feb (yes i have been having them from Feb and now only had time to review them and put  up a post) when it was cold here in Noida. It dried up my eyelids and ended up with flaky eyelids. I guess it wont be effective on excessive-oily lids and dry lids as well.
Other reviews saying that this one is as good as the UD primer. I have never used UD so cant verify this.
After Blending.
Pros:
Easy on the pocket.
Travel friendly.
Makes the eyeshadow last longer.
Convenient wand applicator
Cons:
Not too effective on excessively oily eyelids.
Verdict:
I have read lot of reviews that raves this product and this is known to be better than their $3 couterpart. Will be getting more of this.

e.l.f. Essential Luscious Liquid Lipstick - Brownie Points

bro1
What it claims:
Lip therapy is here! Intensive hydrating agents along with natural pigments leave lips with long-lasting color and moisture. The Luscious Liquid Lipstick creates gorgeous wearable color that flatters a multitude of skin tones and looks.
Price & Quantity: $1 for 1.5g
Ingredients:
Paraffinum Liquidum, Polybutene, Silica, Synthetic Beeswax Fragrance, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Iron Oxides(CI 77499), Red No. 7 Calcium Lake(CI 15850:1), Red No. 6 Barium Lake(CI 15850:2), Blue No.1 Aluminum Lake(CI 42090:2), Red No.40 Aluminum Lake(CI 16035), Red No.27 Aluminum Lake(CI 45410:2).
My take on this:
The website states this product as a lipstick, but its consistency and the sheer finish makes me beleive that its nothing more than a very sheer lip gloss. I'm not a big fan of lip gloss as most of them are pretty sheer and the reason i love lipsticks more is because of its opacity. If there is a lipgloss that acts like a lipgloss but at the same time gives coverage like an lipstick, then that would hold dear to my heart. To make a long story short, this is not one of those super coverage lip gloss. The coverage is barely sheer and is quite stick. This being another reason i hate lip glosses. The swatch pics in their website are very misleading. But none the less the one i have chosen suits me. You can check out their swatches here. The shades i have chosen is a golden brown with hit of shimmer in it. The shimmers are very subtle and i dont feel them on my lips. It has a minty fragrance which doesn't bother me. I love the applicator end and how it needs to be twisted to get activated. It has twisty-thingy on the end which makes a click-click sound when twisting. The packaging is really convenient and spill proof and is sturdy enough to be carried around in my handbag The application end of the lipgloss has a spongy base than squeezes out the product when the other end is twisted. The spongy applicator provides a smooth and a even finish on the lips. The product claims that it intensely moisturizes and the color last long - Both of these claims are so no met. I does moisturize to a certain extent but not intensely. And the color barely lasts one hour and that too if you are not drinking or eating anything.

Cons:
Convenient & sturdy packaging.
Moisturizing
Pros:
Wears off easily.
Not true to color.
Sticky
Verdict:
It does not meet its claims and i hate sheer lip glosses. So this is a no go for me.

e.l.f Studio Single Eyeshadow - Amethyst

What the product claims:
The beautiful soft texture melts into the skin for a vibrant color that lasts. Convenient and easy to apply, just layer the color to achieve the desired intensity. Apply wet or dry for a fabulous look that never creases or fades.

Price: $3

Ingredients:
Talc, Mica, Nylon-12, Silica, Iso-Octyl Palmitate, Magnesium Stearate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Octyldodecanol, Dimethicone, Triacontanyl PVP, Sodium Dehydroacetate.
May Contain: Iron Oxides (CI77491, CI77492, CI77499), Manganese Violet (CI77742), Mica (CI77019), Tutabuyn Duixude (CI 77891), Yellow No.5 Lake (CI 19140), Red No.40 Lake (CI 16035), Ultramarine Violet (CI 77077), Blue No.1 Lake (CI 42090).

My take on this product:

The shade shown in the website was too good and i wanted it real bad. But on opening the box, i found out it was no where near the shown shade and was disappointed a lot 🙁 I was expecting a bit of Berry shade in it but on my skin it looks ashen.
Overlooking the shade, i liked the packaging. It was sturdy...i know the pic says differently. I dropped the damn thing right before i was going to take pictures of it. Back to the packaging...it looks great and it comes with a built-in mirror...very convenient. The texture is very soft and satiny and has a nice feel to it. There is quite a bit of fallout when using the product. In the pan it looks very pigmented but on the skin its sort of lesser than what i expected. It creases after some time on my lids and with a primer it lasts a bit more longer, but not more than 4 hours. Overall, its not an awful product and not a great one considering the price. It would have been great if they had some more shades in their collection.

Swatches:

Pros:
No Animal testing.
Sturdy and cute packaging
Cons:
Limited shades
Poor pigmentation
Shades in the website are misleading.
Availability.
Lot of fall outs.
Creases a lot

Verdict:
There is nothing great about this product in terms of pigmentation and variety of shades that would make me go back to them.

e.l.f. Essential Duo Eye Shadow Cream - Butter Pecan

What they claim:

Express yourse.l.f. with the easy to blend, crease resistant, creamy duo eye shadow colors. Each gorgeous shade can be worn alone or together for a dramatic effect. The soft-blending formula can also be layered under powder eye shadow to set the color in and keep it lasting vibrant all day.
Ingredients:
Isopropyl Palmitate, Paraffinium Liquidum (Mineral Oil), Petrolatum, Ceresin Wax, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax, Mica, Synthetic Beeswax, Bis-Diglyceryl Polyacyladipate-2, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, BHT, Iron Oxides (CI 77491 , CI 77492 , CI 77499), Manganese Violet (CI 77742), Mica (CI 77019), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891) Yellow No.5 Lake (CI 19140), Red No.40 Lake (CI 16035) Ultramarine Violet (CI 77077), Blue No.1 Lake (CI 42090)

My take on the product:
This is my first cream eye shadow and i'm having mixed feelings about it. I chose this shade ' Butter Pecan' as  its a safe shade and I love the darker shade in this one. The packaging is okay, its not cheap looking and is sturdy enough.
The cream eye shadow feels silky to touch and glides on smoothly when applying and is easy to blend. The pigmentation is nothing great. The dark shade at least shows up on my skin but the lighter one looks very sheer and almost invisible. May be i made the mistake of choosing the wrong shade for me. There is almost zero fragrance to it, which is much better than having to apply something that smells weird
I tried them out the firt time without using an eyelid primer to check out how they can cope up with my oily lids and to find out how long they last as it is. Well!!!...without a primer it is very disappointing as it creases badly and after just an hours it fades away in to nothing
After i tried them with the primer, the creasing was significantly less but still there. Not entirely happy with my first cream eye shadow. There are other bloggers who suggest different techniques to make it work, like applying powder eye shadow of the same shade first and then the cream eye shadow to make it last longer. But, i have no intention of doing that.
The product claims that it can be used as a base under the powder eye shadow to set in the color. Well, i'm not up for this. As it is i need to wear an eyelid primer to keep it put and then on top of it i need to layer them with powder eye shadow??? It feels like too much effort to make this work.

Swatches:

Verdict:
I'm not satisfied with its performance.
It could be that i have oily eye lids or just that i live in horridly hot place. You can buy this if you are trying to test them out yourself.
rp_korean-masks-theme1-1024x659.jpg

e.l.f Studio Pout Perfector

I love shiny stuffs. The minute I saw this one I said 'Oooh shiny!!!' I bought this on a whim. Bought purely based on the shine factor. I'm crazy about Lippies and  specifically crazy about Lipsticks.  I read what it claims to do and thought, 'What the heck let me give it a try...if it doesn't do what it says i still have a pearly gloss.'

What it claims:
Create fuller more volumized looking lips with the optical illusion of the pout perfecter gloss.
The sheer pearl gloss instantly transforms your dull lip color to a defines light reflecting glow.

Shade - Glow
Price & Quantity - $3 for 8.8 g

Ingredients:
Paraffinum Liquidum (Mineral Oil), Polyisobutene, Octyl Palmitate, Ethylene/Propylene/Styrene Copolymer, Tocopheryl, Acetate, Methylparaben, Propylparaben. May Contain: Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), Manganese Violet (CI 77742), Mica (CI 77019), Red No. 7 Lake (CI 15850), Red No. 27 Lake (CI 45410), Red No. 6 Lake (CI 15850), Blue No. 1 Lake (CI 42090), Yellow No. 5 Lake (CI 19140), Yellow No. 6 Lake (CI 15985)

Directions:
Apply a small dab of the pearl Pout Perfecter gloss over lipstick or lip gloss, directly in the center of the lower lip to create a reflective glow. Pro Tip: Do not blend the Pout Perfecter all over the lips, as this will lose the dimensional pearl effect.

My take on this product:
The pout perfector comes in a nice and cute looking tube packaging and is sturdy enough to be carried around in my purse. The consistency is pretty gooey and i can feel the glitter particles. It has some sweet smell to it. I'm not sure what it is. In the directions, they ask us not to blend them all over the lips as this will lose the dimensional pearl effect. But on applying it spread itself all over the lips. And if you are in the habit of putting your lips together often like me, it will be all over your lips in no time. It slips off my lips really fast and is long gone. I'm not happy about its consistency, texture or its performance and I'm not too happy with the wand either as the bristles are kinda out of place, which you can see below.

Swatches:

It leaves behind glitter particles even after wiping them hard. Not a pretty sight, when its on your lips.
Pros:
No Animal testing.
It does look pretty for the short time it lasts.
Cons:
The application end of the applicator a.k.a the bristles suck!!!.... No other words for it.
Feels sticky.
It is gritty.
Wears away soon.

Verdict:
Wont be going back for this one.
