Colorbar Deep Matte Lip Crème - Deep Rouge 010: Review & Swatches

Colorbar Deep Matte Lip Crème

Recently I have gone cuckoo for lip gloss. This is pretty evident from my recent post and there are more reviews on lip glosses to come. Colorbar Deep Matte Lip Crème is my first lip creme lippy and I like how it feels on my lips. Here's more on what I think of this product.

What the Product Claims:

An ultra-silky, virtually "weightless" texture that unveils unexpected moussy finish with impeccable high pigmentation color for high coverage effect.
These innovative combinations of ingredients give the formula special gliding consistency to coat lips with deep colors that have a matte, yet intensely bright effect.

Features and Benefits:

  • Stays up to 8hrs
  • Weightless Emollient oils for an impalpable texture
  • Silicon Polymers for a mousse and Velvet Touch
  • Jellifying Agents for moisturisation
  • Texturing Powders for smooth application
  • Paraben Free
  • Fragrance Free

My Thoughts on this Product:

Colorbar Deep Matte Lip Crème

Colorbar Deep Matte Lip Crème

I'm in love with this pretty pastel warm Pink shade and had to buy it. Being a dusky/brown skinned lady, this shade does look a tad pastel-ey on me. But balancing it with a brown lipliner works well and doesn't look so grotesquely painted on my lips.

I love the texture of the lip creme. It sure does feel creamy just like its name. This matte lip gloss looks matte and doesn't feel like it's drying out my lips. It applies really smooth and even on exfoliated lips.  Like it claims, it feels almost weightless, like you aren't wearing it on your lips.

It is super pigmented and cover the dark spots on my lips really well. I really love the moisturizing formula of this gloss as well. At times, I have noticed that it clumps up at the inner corners of the lips and looks weird. This is probably because of the velvety smooth formulation, it just slides to the edge.

The doe-foot applicator helps to spread the creme evenly across the lips and is comfortable to use. Almost forget about the packaging. The packaging looks sturdy and lovely.

Now, about the staying power; It last (maybe) for like and 2 hours for me and after that it, it sort of fades away. So this claim about lasting for 8 hours is so off the base. And it doesn't leave a stain. I love lip products that leave a stain as I don't have to retouch my completely naked lips.  It looks like it doesn't fully set, so it transfer onto cups and any other surface it comes in contact with 😉

Used brown lip pencil to make this shade work for me.

Colorbar Deep Matte Lip Crème

Pros:

  • Silky smooth application
  • Feel light
  • Fragrance free

Cons:

  • Bit expensive (for me)
  • Transfer onto contacting surface
  • Last only for 2 hours at the most.
  • Doesn't leave a stain

What do you think of it? I'm loving it. Will I repurchase? Probably not, as I find it to tad bit expensive for me and has more cons than pros. Also, I'm keeping myself open to try other lip products 🙂

Nice texture but this shade looks too light for my dusky complexion!

    • http://shadesofaduskywoman.com/ Sudhaa Gopinath

Yes, it is light, Mariyam. But if you use a brown lip liner, it sort of balances a bit. Like Sugandha says, this goes best with a heavy smokey eyes.

That is a very nudish shade, would go only with heavier smokey eye makeup looks. Lovely review.

Yes, Sugandha!! I'm pairing with heavy eyes, otherwise it looks so meh!!

The shade looked a little brown in the tube. It's a pretty mild pink, but I don't think I will want to spend almost 700 bucks on this.
