Getting a tattoo has been a lifelong dream for me and it came true recently. This is like a personal achievement for me as I come from a conservative family and I was not even allowed to cut my hair or wear Jeans for a very long time. In fact, I cut my hair only after getting married. My husband on the other hand, gives me complete freedom and am grateful for that.
Getting back to the topic, I recently (in April actually...) got my first tattoo and want to share this experience with you.
I had chosen a Tibetan scripture Drutsa that means 'Inner Strength'. I meaning resonated deeply with me. I came across it in Pinterest almost 2 years ago and had decided that if I ever get a tattoo this would be my first one.
I have added a lotus along with this scriptures. The lotus flower has many different meanings but I was fascinated with it because it symbolizes the divine feminine and it also represents purity of body, mind, and spirit. The Confucian scholar Zhou Dunyi has also said, “I love the lotus because while growing from mud, it is unstained.” I really loved this quote and the other meanings as well. So decided to add this along with the scripture.
I got the tattoo done by Kayo Marz Shroff. He is an excellent person. He answers all your questions and doubts regarding getting a tattoo and is quiet patient. If you are interested to get a tattoo done and need his info, do let me know. I am happy to provide you his details.
Am looking for another design for my next tattoo. Suggestion are most welcomed.
