I had posted earlier about Affordable Contour and Highlighter Palettes Under Rs.500 from Amazon and had mentioned the Kiss Beauty 5 Color Contour Concealer Highlighter Palette as one of the items. I was looking for an affordable palette to try my hand at contouring and finally selected this one.
Price & Quantity:
Rs.270/- for 16g.
You can buy it from here.
I doubt this is the entire ingredients.
My Thoughts on This Product:
For a long time, I wanted to get my hands on a contour palette as I really wanted to master the technique of contouring. I ended up buying this affordable palette from Amazon.
The palette mentions #3 on the case, however, I didn't see this option when buying it. This maybe the reason why some have complained that the shades are not similar to the one on the website. This is something the seller needs to address as there is more than one variance in this palette.
Coming to the palette, there are 5 shades, where one is the lightest, another is darkest, and 3 shades have a varied degree of Orange tones to it. I use the darkest shade for contouring and the 3rd shade from the left as a corrector for my dark circles.
The product is creamy in consistency. When I used it on my oily skin, I felt that it was too waxy/oily and had a hard time keeping it in place. I had to use some kind of powder to set it. I used a matte bronzer from NYX on the contour lines and the yellow powder (similar to Banana powder) for setting it when correcting the under eye circles. At least a slight touch of loose powder is required to set this product.
It would be unfair on my part to say that this product doesn't work on oily skins as my skin is excessively oily after my Thailand trip (and after all the sausages I ate). This product lasted a maximum of 3 hours after setting it with some powder. So, on a moderately oily and dry skin, it should definitely last more than 3 hours.
Now, to the other aspects of this palette; it has a mild fragrance that is negligible. I did not have any allergic reactions or suffer an acne breakout after using it. The palette comes with a brush and an inbuilt mirror, which is nothing great but can be convenient when travelling.
- The shade #3 palette is suitable for dusky and dark skin.
- Orange shades can be used as a corrector.
- For oily skin, you need to set it using a powder.
- Lasts for about 3 hours in oily skin.
This is a decent product to try your hand at contouring and highlighting. On a dry to normal skin, I expect the product to last longer than it did on my oily skin. However, on an oily skin, this product lasts a maximum of 3 hours after setting it with some powder. (It would be great if you could just whiz through the review to understand what exactly I'm talking about).
