Makeup Revolution - The Matte Effect Cover & Conceal | Review & Swatches

Makeup Revolution - The Matte Effect Cover & Conceal

I love Makeup Revolution because they are so affordable and the range of makeup products is huge too. Till date, I have bought lipsticks, lip glosses, and eyeshadows from Makeup Revolution. I got this concealer in my June Fab Bag. Initially, when I swiped it, I did not like it that much and it was just sitting on my vanity. But when I tried to use it again, I was completely bowled over by it.

The first swipe experience was misleading as it was dry and pulled my skin when I swiped it on my hand. It was good that I decided to try it out again, as the dry layer had come off, exposing the creamy (not oily) layer of the concealer stick.

Price & Quantity:

Rs 550/- . Not sure of the quantity.

My Thoughts on it:

Makeup Revolution - The Matte Effect Cover & Conceal

The first thing I love about this Makeup Revolution concealer is that it is in stick form (to be specific, like lipstick). It looks and works like a lipstick, making it convenient to carry around and use. The formula of this concealer is just creamy enough to blend on your skin but not so creamy that it just slips off on an oily skin.

Makeup Revolution - The Matte Effect Cover & Conceal Concealer in 'Dark'

Makeup Revolution - The Matte Effect Cover & Conceal Concealer in 'Dark'

I got the shade 'Dark', but it's not dark enough to match complexion. So, I'm using it as a highlighter.

The quantity is similar to a lipstick; considering the quantity the price is slightly on the higher side for me. This might not be the case for others 🙂 This concealer has a mild fragrance which you sense only when it's in the casing.

It provides moderate coverage, which is sufficient for me. My guess is that this shade would be a good match to those with slightly fairer complexion than mine. The only other concealer that provides satisfactory results is the L.A Girl Pro HD Concealer

Rambling Alert!:

I only wish that dark skin people like me had better shade options to choose from. It's sad to see that brands like Avon still have only 3 shades when it comes to compacts and foundations. Please do understand that it is very hard to classify all the Indian complexion under these 3 categories.

Here's how it looks on my hand.

I got this in my fab bag. But i dont knw how to use it. And it has a manufacturing date on Jan,2015 & expiry date is Dec,2017. Is it safe to use it.

    • Sudhaa Gopinath

Hi Shefali, you can use it as a highlighter underneath your eyes. Since the expiry date is Dec 2017, there is still ample time left. You can use it for sure.
