I almost bought the Falsies Pushup Drama Mascara by Maybelline, but when I checked out the ingredients, I found out that there were Parabens in it. The Maybelline New York Lash Sensational Washable Mascara in ‘Blackest Black’ was my next choice. This mascara comes in the usual chubby packaging that all Maybelline mascaras come in, except for one difference. This one comes in a dusty pink coloured packaging and I absolutely love it.
Love thick & longer lash? Check out this lash serum.
It comes in two variants: Washable and Waterproof. And in three shades: Blackest Black, Very Black and Brown Black.
I chose ‘Blackest Black’. This is the most pigmented shaded in this range. I unequivocally hate waterproof mascaras and steer clear of them. So, I bought myself a washable one.
The first thing you would notice (other than the colour of the packaging) is the bristles of the mascara wand. The really short spikes let you go really close to the lash line and coats the entire lash uniformly. The curved shape helps me reach the inner corners easily without poking my eyes out.
The formula is smooth in consistency; not too thick or not too runny. I have been using it for almost a month now and it had never clumped so far.
With just 2 coats, it adds a healthy volume to my not-so-voluminous eyelashes and gives a nice fanned out look. The best thing is, it holds the curl/fanned look for at least 6 hours (I usually lose track after this or rub the hell out of my eyes). There are no gritty or powdery fall offs and there isn’t any smudging either.
When I tried topping more than 2 coats I wasn’t feeling comfortable and my lashes looked weird and spider-ey (in an unsexy way).
The finish is dramatic and the fanned lashes really frame the face. And my lashes look lengthier and thicker than before.
Here’s a pic of me with and without the Maybelline New York Lash Sensational Washable Mascara.
