Sand Art in Mysore

Sand Art - Lord Ganesh

Gowri M.N, a sand artist from Mysore, creates a wonderful and life-like sand sculptures that appear too realistic. Gowri wanted to come up with India's first sand sculpture museum and she did make her dream come true. Gowri has established this museum on Chamundi Hill Main Road, near to Jockey quarters. This museum spans for about 3,500 sq ft and contains sculptures on various themes like Religion, Astrology, Mythology, Wild life etc.

If you are visiting Chamundi temple you can definitely stop by this place. It is worth your time and money and it is such a wonderful opportunity to witness this wonderful art form. This is the first time I have ever seen sand art and boy I was stumped. What was really awesome was the attention to details and how realistic most of the sand arts were.

The beads sculpture was too detailed and I was really impresses by this one. This is my favorite of them all.

I loved this dainty looking mermaid with patriarch nose. The details were spell binding.
